Tesla Has Extended Its Powerwall Reward. Here’s What You Need to Know.
Tesla has extended the Next Million Powerwall programme. The deadlines have moved, so if you looked at this earlier in the year and assumed you’d missed it, read on.
What is the Next Million Powerwall programme?
Tesla launched it to mark one million Powerwalls installed worldwide. For homeowners who order and install a Powerwall 3 or Powerwall 3 Expansion Pack within the programme window, Tesla sends a Virtual Visa Reward Card.
In the UK, that’s £375 per unit, up to two units per address. So up to £750, paid as a card you can spend anywhere Visa is accepted. It’s not a discount off your invoice. It’s a separate card sent after installation.
What has changed?
The deadlines have been extended. The new key dates for UK installations are:
- Request Registration deadline:** 30 June 2026
- Eligible installation period:** 1 December 2025 to 31 August 2026
- Final installation deadline:** 31 August 2026
Reward amounts are unchanged. Eligible units are unchanged. Claim process is unchanged. Just the dates.
Who qualifies?
Your Powerwall 3 or Powerwall 3 Expansion Pack needs to be installed and registered between 1 December 2025 and 31 August 2026. Registration through the Tesla portal needs to be submitted by 30 June 2026. And the installation must be done by a Tesla Certified Installer. AES is a Tesla Certified Installer.
Powerwall 3 and Expansion Packs only. Powerwall 2 doesn’t qualify.
Does the deadline matter?
Yes. 30 June 2026 is firm for registration. The installation window runs to 31 August, which sounds like a while away, but a battery installation involves a survey, any grid applications, and scheduling. We’re booking several weeks out at the moment. If you want to be within the window, it’s worth starting the conversation today.
Is a Powerwall 3 worth it without the reward?
In most cases where I’d recommend one, yes. The reward reduces the payback period, but the case for battery storage doesn’t depend on it.
A Powerwall 3 stores what your solar panels generate during the day so you use it in the evening, rather than exporting it at 5 to 15p per kWh and buying it back at 24 to 30p. At current electricity prices, that difference adds up quickly. The Powerwall 3 also has a built-in solar inverter, which simplifies the installation compared to earlier setups, and it runs most household appliances during a power cut.
If you’re generating solar without battery storage, you’re subsidising your energy supplier every evening. A Powerwall changes that.
How does the claim process work at AES?
We handle it. You don’t need to navigate the Tesla portal on your own. We guide you through the steps at handover and make sure the registration is submitted within the required window. The reward card arrives by email after Tesla verifies the installation, usually within a few weeks.

FAQs
Does the reward apply to Powerwall 2?
No. Powerwall 3 and Powerwall 3 Expansion Packs only.
Can I combine this reward with other incentives?
Yes. The Tesla reward sits alongside other eligible incentives. AES advises on the full picture at survey stage.
What if my installation runs past 31 August 2026?
It won’t qualify. This is why starting the process sooner matters. AES plans installations around the deadlines that matter to you.
Do I need solar panels to qualify?
No. A Powerwall 3 can be installed as a standalone battery system. AES installs both configurations and advises on which makes more financial sense for your property.
How long does a Powerwall 3 installation take?
One to two days at the property. From first enquiry to installation, including survey and any grid applications, expect several weeks. AES manages the full process.
